Cowgirl Chicken in the Crock Pot

Day one of crock pot dining brings us “Cowgirl Chicken”.  As promised, this is a recipe that was tried and enjoyed by two adults and three picky children.  And for the record, this particular recipe wasn’t just “enjoyed”, it was devoured!

In case you did not read the previous post, here’s the criteria our family set for a weeks worth of crock pot dinners:  1) no condensed (cream of) soups.  2) recipe must be a “throw and go” when it comes to ingredients and prep time.  (Minimal preparation, no crazy finishing steps.)  3)  pre-packaged ingredients are kept to a bare minimum, preferably none at all.  4)  Meal does not require additional cooking of ingredients to plate it –  use salads you have prepared, ready in the fridge, rice at the ready in a cooker, etc…  5)  Dish must be unanimously enjoyed by a five-year-old, a pre-teen, a teenager and two adults.

So without further ado, I present to you:  “Cowgirl Chicken”!

This blog has moved!  Please visit for the recipe and further information!

  1. We tried this and it is SO good! ALL of my kids liked it — that’s next to impossible to accomplish. Thank you for posting it. We’re making it again tonight. 🙂
